You could do it either way. Use whatever gives you the best results.

Just as Deus says, do whatever works. There is no one way that is always correct for handling these situations.

on this subject of "MONTAGE" scenes, what is the acceptable format to write a series of images?

Separate each scene with its own slug line?

or list them each on a separate line?

I've seen various anwers on how to write a MONTAGE scene but was wondering the correct format
EXAMPLE --

EXT. HILL - DAY.

MONTAGES: Jack goes up the hill; Jill drives to the hill; Jack gets to the top of the hill; Jill leaves her car and walks to the hill; Jill climbs up the hill; Jack screws Jill. They go back down the hill.

Like Comic said, there is no one right way to do it.

EXT. HILL - DAY

- Jack and Jill go up the hill.
- Jack and jill fetch a pail of water.
- Jack comes tumbling down.
- Jack breaks his crown.
- Jill tumbles after him.

EXT. HILL - DAY

MONTAGE:

- Jack and Jill go up the hill.
- Jack and jill fetch a pail of water.
- Jack comes tumbling down.
- Jack breaks his crown.
- Jill tumbles after him.

END MONTAGE:

EXT. HILL - DAY

MONTAGE: Jack and Jill go up the hill. Jack and jill fetch a pail of water. Jack comes tumbling down. Jack breaks his crown. Jill tumbles after him.

EXT. HILL - DAY

Jack and Jill go up the hill. Jack and jill fetch a pail of water. Jack comes tumbling down. Jack breaks his crown. Jill tumbles after him.
