when you guys print your scripts, do you print them in bold? I always thought that was TOO dark.

Why would you print it in bold? If your font is printing too light maybe you need a new printer or a different courier font.

Deus is correct (as usual :) !)

I advise against printing in bold. Bold is not the same as darker. Even a font like Courier New (much too light) does not look right when you bold it. You would think that bolding would help, but it just makes it look like a light font that has been bolded.

For printing, use a naturally heavier Courier font. Courier Final Draft is pretty good, and despite the name you can use it with any program.

My favorite is Courier10 BT, a Bitstream True Type font that is available on the internet. I don't know if Bitstream or Corel or whoever owns it ever made it a free font, but it has been a de facto free font for years.

10BT is a Corel font.

Hewlett Packard's Dark Courier and Final Draft's Courier are also excellent free courier fonts.

Was ultra easy. Googled dark courier and quickly found a site with both dark and 10BT. Just followed directions: downloaded, unzipped, put them in c/windows/fonts.

Now I have them in my two writing programs. Sophocles and Open Office.

Wunderbar, Writing Again!

We have converted you. :)

By the way, some programs will let you use one Courier for display on the screen, but another for printing. Courier New, which prints way too light, is a good display font.

Check out your program.

On the topic of printing... I printed two screenplays today (not mine) for reading off screen. Stupid bastards almost killed my printer after 250 pages.

But just print in regular Courier 12pt 10pitch

Haven't had a trouble printing.

Course I'm still in the learning stage and no where near submission stage.

I just downloaded some stuff for Sophocles from Comic Bent's homepage. (http://members.aol.com/comicbent/)

This is fun.
