The least creative movie title in history, BUT...

...I liked this damn movie if I do say so my damn self!

I enjoyed it. You have to suspend some disbelief, but uh.....not bad!!

Thrilly Meter of 1-10, Cellular gets a 7.

I also enjoyed it very much. Mindless fun without treating you like a 6 year old.

I thought Cellular was a very by-the-numbers kind of movie. All the beats you're supposed to have were in there in the prescribed places. But because of this it worked. I would recommend this approach to some of the people responsible for all the sucky films we've seen lately.

Overall I found Cellular entertaining, though not ground-breaking. But hey, I'll take entertaining.

Why on Earth did they change Kim's character from a doctor (script) to a biology teacher (screen)? And why, with said change, did her family still live in a multi-million dollar home in Brentwood?

It's even exposited that her husband's a low-level real estate broker, so he can't afford it either.

That was one huge strike against the film.

Why was Jessica Beil even in this movie? If you got her, flaunt her. Filmmakers didn't. Strike two.

Jason Statham. A waste of talent. Strike three.

You could have bowled me over with a feather when I saw John Ottman scored this thing. It was atrocious. Strike four.

Good running gag with the snotty driver gives it a bonus point.

Overall, still a hugely disappointing film.

Because Chris Evans is stickin' her.

I didn't expect much from this film, but it was a pleasant surprise. There's plot holes that can't be ignored, however. And some of the characters make extremely stupid decisions in the name of adding as much suspence as possible...but it's enjoyable. Better than I thought it would be.

I haven't seen the movie, but I did read the script...a very good read. I guess I should rent it and see where they went wrong.

That is an inherint danger Writer1. I try to go to the movies and ''experience'' it as if I hadn't read the script. It is the sign of a good movie when you forget you have.

It's a fun movie. Being a person who despises cellphones, I was shocked that I was entertained by it.

If something is mindless (among other negatives this film seemingly has), I personally cannot enjoy it, really.

Like most people in this thread, I wasn't expecting much from this movie. But I was pleasantly surprised. Thumbs up from me.

It enrages me when people don't write "Et tu, Bruté?" correctly.

Thanks CE for the inside scoop. Quiet a different breed of script indeed.

IMHO I prefer the 'new' version of the film. Although...

Spoilers...

... I wasn't best pleased with the method as to why the dirty cops were after the family. But that's the MacGuffin I guess, which the story needs. And I like the idea more of Kim B being a Doc than a Teacher. IMHO it would make more sense with what she does with one of the Henchmen (glass/arm) and piecing back together again the phone (although perhaps less a 'doc' tho than 'Teach'). lol

I also like the idea that this script can be done for 2mil, 20mil, or 200mil. Reminded me of something that Bill Martell would write.
