Using Song Lyrics

Is it ok to have a character say song lyrics in their dialogue? Not even singing them, just talking about them. This wouldn't be a legal issue would it?

it's okay to do it in dialoge. If the movie gets made, the legal department will have to get cleatance before you actually use it.

I hope it is ok to have two characters sing to each other in dialogue. I have an idea for a rom com where it would be essential.

It is one of those where I have the first act and resolution, now if I can just come up with a decent second act and final crises...

The song they would sing to each other would be lyrics I wrote myself.

Hmmm... I'm no musician but it would not be the first time my lyrics had been put to music and sung professionally, so I feel confident of my ability there.

Edit -> Not a full blown song. Just the essential lyrics, two or three stanzas.
