I'm new and tried to scan through some of the other posts before posting trying to find the answer, but if i am writing something that has action, how much of the action is written in without getting to director-ish, also i would have few pages if just summarizing, i know if its a good script it wont matter but still.

But if there is another thread that answers this pleas point me in that direction or just tell that there is one. I have just started writing so I'm somewhat lost and it is a lot to take in.

You don't want to get bogged down in the details when you write action. The WAY you write the scenes should reflect the tension and action that's going on IN the scene.

It's a difficult balance, between too much and too little. I would recommend to you that you find on the net action scripts, and read how they do it. Don't worry about camera angles but look at HOW they describe what's going on.

try movie scripts galore (http://www.iscriptdb.com/) and look for the action ones.

Best of luck.
