Does anybody know of a good book that gets into all the details of formatting ?

There aren't many details to get into. If you have a script formatting template or stand alone app then you don't even need to know the exact settings. Reading a few scripts will quickly answer any remaining questions you have. I suggest you start with scripts in proper spec format like those found on www.screentalk.org (http://www.screentalk.org)
The WGA also has several unproduced specs written by pros on their site. Check them out.

In addition to Trottier, Cole and Haag's Complete Guide to Standard Script Formats is a good, if stodgy, guide.
