RULES FOR "HALLOWEEN SCRIPT CONTEST":
SUBJECT: Script should be a spooky-type story appropriate for a Halloween story/film. Ghosts, monsters, psychological haunting, absolutely anything as long as it is a "scary movie" (you get the idea).
SUBMISSION: I will post the PDF files on my web site, as before. So submit to me. You may submit at any time. Yes, you may submit more than one script.
FORMAT: PDF. If you cannot create a PDF, I will be happy to do it for you if you can send me your script (Windows OS only) in Final Draft, MMS, Sophocles, Microsoft Word (any version), Corel WordPerfect (any version), or even plain text (if that is really all you can do :().
LENGTH: Maximum of 12 pages.
ANONYMITY: We will keep the submissions anonymous. I will strip out any identifiers from the PDF. I will give every teaser a number with its title, just as we did last time.
TEASER: In your submission e-mail to me, please include a description of your script, sort of like a pitch or an extended logline. It should be one paragraph, but you can be as thorough as you want. In other words, it does not have to be one or two sentences only. Optionally, you can even comment on what you are trying to do. You should try to inform us about your script and "sell us" on the idea.
DEADLINE: Halloween (inclusive).
VOTING: Anyone can vote, contestant or not. You may vote for yourself. Try to be as objective as you can. To be fair, try to read (if only superficially in some cases) all the scripts. Voting will commence as soon as the deadline has passed. If Derek will again be so kind as to be in charge of voting, I will leave it up to him as to how long he would like to accept votes. A couple of days, I guess. I will plan to vote this time. (In the last contest Derek counted my opinions as my 'top three' votes anyway, that cheeky monkey! :))
I will post all entries, as they come in, at:
