Columbia Pictures senior executive...

My agent submitted my action thriller script to Andrea Gianetti. She is a senior executive at Columbia Pictures. Well she read it, and said that she liked it, but unfortuanately she wasn't going to pursue "right now."

Could there still be a possibility that she may reconsider pursuing it in the near future? Or do execs on her level just say "whatever" just to say it. Even though she didn't express interest in buying it, it does feel good that an exec on her level enjoyed my screenplay. I checked out her credits on IMDB, and she is BIG TIME!

Everyone else says pass. I say congrats. Even though rejection never feels good, you should be pleased you got it to her in the first place.

Sometimes a pleasant rejection can be the inspiration for making your script better.

Nothing is ever really dead. Attach a director or actor of note, and she may sing a different tune. Of course, that's a long shot, but never say never.
