I'm stocked up on SW books and have stacks of other books waiting to be read but still got a bunch of amazon gift cards for X-mas, was gonna burn them on an HCD, 53 edition is available now. Anyone who has one think they're worth it.

Buy it. It's an investment.
Only get the prodco guide, however. The agent/manager is a waste of $$ (I think, anyway, FWIW).

Thats what I was looking at...working on something I think will best fit into the d2dvd market, think that's a good place to start nowadays too. Gonna take Bills advice and contact prod-co's in that market once I'm sure it's ready. 53'rd edition is out now on the HCD site, gonna wait for it to hit Amazon.

Yeah. Wait until you're ready to start querrying before you buy it - probably the online version if possible. There's so much turnover in the business that it's not really worth having it just sit on your shelf.

I ordered the HCD On-Line Edition and Scipt-Pimp as well. Both of those together seem cover most of the information that's needed...

I was looking at the on-line subscription, 199$, jeez, can't shell out for that just yet. Gonna go with the 53'rd production issue when it hits amazon. May not be updated daily but If I target a prodco for anything I'll do as much extra homework as I can. Looking up a small change in phone numbers or personel, if applicable, isn't going to kill me.

dls,
You might want to consider our new site too. We don't have the big staff like the HCD, etc. but we do offer as much as we can for the price - -$30 a year discounted (intro rate). When we find/discover/hear about updates, they are taken care of immediately and thus are much more instantaneous than a book, in case that helps.
If not, never mind. :D

There's a 51'st edition on e-bay for 29$, just last summer. Does any serious company go through that many changes in 6-7 months...anything I can't learn with a little google...I think not.

You'd be surprised how much changes in a year. Even when I buy a brand new book, I double check on the internet (Variety or whatever) to confirm that the person is still at the company.

When does the directory come out every year? How much is it? Where can you get it?

I can vouch for Done Deal Pro. I've found it VERY helpful, and with as much information as I can effectively shake a stick at.
