A funny thing's happening at Paramount -- new studio president Gail Berman wants to boost its output of comedies. "Comedy, comedy, comedy, comedy," Berman responded Tuesday when asked what kind of projects she's seeking. "I love comedies."

Yes. Two of the biggest hits this summer were comedies. That must mean make comedies. Someone get her a White Sox hat.

I read the variety report right after I posted the thread. How long does a president last at these job positions? At least five years right? plese tell me for five because I can focus on my comedies and commit to this genre for awhile. Good luck to all comedy writers out there. THIS IS OUR TIME TO REIGN!!!

But then great comedies have always been in high demand. How Paramount found itself on the outside looking in? I dunno (too cheap to afford Variety). As a comedy writer, am I excited? Not much more than I already am.
