I agree that attachments are extremely important. But WOW, a pitch for a cool mill. Nice. I want to read that script. How did they get that title approved by the MPAA?

Unbeknownst to Greg Coolidge, Sean William Scott and Topher Grace were already working on an idea with the same title. So when Coolidge pitched it to Paramount, the studio loved the idea but told him they heard the actors were developing something that might be similiar. Paramount then looked into it and discovered that Scott and Grace only had a germ of an idea that was far from developed, so the studio got Coolidge in the same room with them to pitch his take. Scott and Grace heard the pitch and basically said, "Well, there's our COCKBLOCKERS movie!" And that's how they became attached.
This is the second pitch of 2005 to net 1.8 million.
p.s. They haven't gotten the title approved by the MPAA yet. That process comes after the movie is made.

Titles get changed all the time in the development process. It will never be released as "Cockblockers" -- not in George Bush's America!
I have a similar case with one of my titles. I know it will never end up released with the title I've given it, but it's a great way to draw attention to my spec.

With the popularity of R-rated comedies now, I wouldn't be surprised if the title stays.
