About 3 years ago (I think), someone posted a great high-concept logline on the Done Deal site about a married guy who has all his life's wishes suddenly start to come true, in sequential order: first, he gets that tricycle he wanted when he was five, shortly later he gets Bay City Rollers concert tickets he wished for as a teen, and so on. Upon realizing what is happening to him, the guy remembers he recently wished his wife dead, and now he has to figure out a way to stop the phenomena from continuing in order to save her.

I learned a friend of mine is currently writing a screenplay similar to this concept, and I remembered reading such a logline here. Anyone else recall this, and maybe know if the script ever sold?

Thanks.

The only high-concept story similar to that is about a guy who takes coins from a fountain and all the wishes made upon the tossing of those coins come true--for that guy.I believe it was posted because Steinberg was hired to do a rewrite.

That's the one I remember. Don't recall the one you mentioned.

The dead person wish coming true, though, is old old old old old old old... it's a cliche, really.

"The Monkey's Paw" is a short story by W. W. Jacobs--only 9 films based on it on the IMBD site!
