I actually need this for a paper I'm writing:

Which Hollywood producers/production companies are currently churning out the most insipid, most lame-brained, most worthless piles of big-budget dreck?

The more examples I have of perpetrators of today's Hollywood craptaculars, the better.

Thanks!

That's in the eye of the beholder, and you're the beholder.

Think of the movies that you consider the best examples of what you're looking for. (Or use google to find lists of current and recent movies to spark your memory.)

Then go to IMDB.com to find out who produced them. Click on those producers' names to see what else they produced.

Good idea. So good that I actually have been doing just that. :)

That said, I am still open to other people's opinions (whether I happen to agree with them or not). Some folks may remember a recent film or films that I happened to overlook. So, anyone who wishes to list their own choices on the matter, please feel free to do so. I appreciate any input!

Thanks again.

Elie and Franchise Pictures are a thing of the past now. But, yes, they were pretty awful. A SOUND OF THUNDER was an appropriately horrid swan song for the company....

My vote goes for Neal H. Moritz and Original Films. I seriously doubt you can top that one.

Elie may have bankrupted Franchise but he's still producing.

Oh really? That's news to me. I thought all his legal woes sent him back to the dry cleaning business....

Binh Dang. Every picture he's produced has been a stinker. (He produces Steven Seagal's straight to dvd monstrosities).

If he produced Steven Seagals "Out of Reach" then I concur - Worst Producer Ever!

"Out of Reach" convinced me to take up writing.

A former covert operative takes up a 10 year old russian pen pal girl....please...bloody paedophile!

Yes, that was one of his. Not to mention the gross insults to the Turkish people committed in the film. I am not kidding when I tell you the whole flaming country went ballistic (I have a correspondent in Turkey, big Steven Seagal fan, and she went nuclear at the misuse of Turkish symbols and institutions held dear there, and it wasn't just limited to her).

Mind you, Seagal was a producer on that one as well, so you can add Steven Seagal to the world's worst producers.

Production companies that stink: Nu Image, for damned sure.

Personally I'd go to RottenTomatoes.Com, find the top 20 worse films and get their budgets. Sweet and simple. Alternatively go to the local cinema and pick any film they're showing...
