yup, great idea--I mmediately thought of a Simpsons episode where Homer gets to be a guest astronaut.
Yeah, I immediately thought COMEDY, but then I read the "Thriller" genre notation in the post... scratches head...

Would depend on who is cast, right? I mean if the character is played by one of the Wayans, you know it's going to be funny. Then again if it's played by Brosnan it would be all stiff and serious.

I always wondered what I'd do in that situation.

Oh man, it is a good concept.
True story, seriously, I had just loaded up the message board while watching TV, and there was a brief story on Richard Branson trying to get people into space for tourism, and I said to myself, that could be a decent film, what if the crew got stuck up their, then I clicked on this thread. I was all, WOAH WHAT?!?! STRANGE.
But yeah, let's hope the scriptwriter does a good job!

Sort of a mixture between "Cast Away" and "Apollo 13"... Maybe they can cast Tom Hanks.
No seriously, this is an interesting idea, but it's still hard to imagine a movie with only one actor that is thrilling for 90 to 120 minutes. "Cast Away" had the same problem and not everybody liked the movie.

Hey, one of my favorite movies of all time is "Robinson Crusoe on Mars." It had a guy and a monkey for most of the film and was fun and fascinating from start to finish!
I'm really glad it's going to be a thriller. I can't think of anything scarier than this subject matter.
p.s. one of my favorite books from childhood was called "Space Cat on Mars." I found it in a trash bin.

Was sold as Castaway in space. Very cast-dependent. Remains to be seen whether this will work.

in a parallel universe, the sheeple flocked to Solaris.
