Does anyone have a good resource for, or know of a website, where one can get good, reliable emails for production companies in the USA (NY and California mostly) and Canada (Vancouver and Toronto). Third Millenium and even the Done Deal lists are outdated, as is the July issue of HCD. Business.com had some info, but not nearly enough.

There is no one repository. You need to hit various sites. CS weekly provides emails of prod. co's open to e-queries.

Hang around these boards. E-mails are exchanged via PM's mostly.

Check out the bottom of this webpage and click on the prodco links. This guy actually has amassed a pretty damn good list. Things change so fast though that most lists are tough to keep up. http://www.everyonewhosanyone.com/tt/tlta1.html

A few key things to keep in mind...

Most companies are not looking to put their email addresses out there since they don't want to get slammed. The companies that generally do provide an email are ones, which are smaller (possibly start up) companies, who are willing to take on the load.

Just as most of us surely don't like spam emails and being bothered with solicitations, the people working in Hollywood aren't interested in being assaulted with queries. If someone figures out an email or is passed an email on the sly, then they can get lucky sometimes, if their query is really great.

So you're not, as noted above, going to find any great resource for tons of emails, since it would close the town down if all the execs were trying to deal with all the queries each day. We've had folks contact us after their email was posted here, asking that it pleased be removed because they were overwhelmed -- like 100 emails in a day. It can get ugly fast for them. (That's one of the reasons that the "Everyone Who's..." site isn't well liked, as I understand it.)

And our company lists here are not as up-to-date as Done Deal Pro, due mostly to time factors. Also, even with DDP we don't lists tons of emails due to size of the companies involved with the type of projects we track.

Low budget world more open; Hollywood not very open. So a lot will most likely depend on whom you are trying to contact.

Hope this can at least help some.
