I was recently read by Nancy Tenenbaum. They just passed on my script but had nothing but great things to say about my writing. Very profressional, friendly, and responsive.

update:

Tenenbaum passed b/c crime movies aren't really their thing... They did Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers so I was fairly prepared for that response since the script wasn't a comedy, but I couldn't resist being read by a company that's done such great films...

AEI passed on the script but likes my writing... Asked if I had a novel in me and said to let her know what else I was working on? Is that serious or just "speak"... Should I actually write back, thank her, and let her know what else I've written or am writing, or just let it go?

No word from CC yet and I sent to Magnet yesterday...

Bironic/magic,

What was the response time for Nancy Tenenbaum Films?

Just curious because I got a request the other day from them and wondered.

Thanks,
Roscoe

Did you email query on your own or via a Scriptblaster-type service?

Just curious.

Mine was via scriptblaster.

Definately let them know what else you're working on. They're very big on packaging projects and have a very strong manuscript arm. They've taken a lot of their novel writers into the film world...

I email queried using the HCD... I haven't used any services b/c I'm somewhat cheap and skeptical...

Tenenbaum was like 6 weeks or so
AEI was about a month

The intersting thing about AEI's critique was that the plotline felt too episodic and familiar... What a shock considering the manager who was hot on it a few years ago kept trying to turn it into CSI... Oh well... To each his own...
