i'm not sure what the term is.
i'm writing a story about a character who's a priest that gets transferred from parish to parish b/c of molestation accusations. now, i've been doing research and i've seen that there is former priest paul shanley was transferred by the archidiocese b/c of molestation cases.

will this coincidence be a legal problem??? i'm just basing this on situation.

do you honestly believe that you writing a screenplay about a priest that is charged, repeatedly, with molestation then transfered is a coincidence to what's been happening in the Catholic church over the last few years?

You might have a legal problem if there were only one priest who'd ever been involved in a situation like this. But as there have been many, for many years, you're writing about a fictional example of a whole group of people. There have been so many of them, you couldn't possibly be accused of writing about any specific one of them. Unless, of course, you were to make your character distinctively like one of them.
