I entered my Bernie Mac spec. I have a bad feeling about my script, though. Oh well - I'll be pleasantly surprised if anything good happens because of it. :)

Good luck dood. I've got my fingers crossed!
I entered my Without A Trace spec.
Here's hopin' we do well!!!

i entered my the OC spec today.
is it a bad idea to enter a spec of a show on the network holding the contest?
surely we aren't the only people from the board who entered this contest...if so then i'd say we're all gonna make it:)
good luck everyone!

I entered. I'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed. Does anyone know when we'll be hearing something?

Boobsie - Here's hoping! Fingers and toes all crossed. :)
Nurp - If you start getting anxious now, you're going to be in for a long year. :)
Seriously though, just assume that it's going to take a long time. Their website says that they send something to you after a month to just let you know that they've received your materials. But last year, it sometimes took over three months to receive an acceptance/rejection.
If anyone is curious about reading how it went last year, the thread from the 2003 program is at b3.ezboard.com/fdonedealc...=679.topic (http://b3.ezboard.com/fdonedealcontests.showMessage?topicID=679.topic)

has anyone heard anything yet? ...or have any idea when we will?
05-26-2004, 03:44 PM
yeah, but you have to go to Writer's bootcamp.

I'm in a diversity program at Cosby and I want to get admitted into all of them. :rollin
05-27-2004, 10:57 AM
What's the Cosby program like? Is it difficult to get in ?
05-29-2004, 09:54 PM
I called Fox and found out that applicants should be finding out in early July.
To the person who inquired about Cosby, I did enjoy the program a great deal. I think about 200/300 people apply with 15 (both film and TV) being accepted.
05-30-2004, 03:34 AM
yeah, great program, i speak from experience.
07-12-2004, 02:38 PM
I was told in an email from Fox Diversity that we'd hear back by July 14th. Anyone getting any responses?
07-15-2004, 08:15 PM
I got my rejection email yesterday.
07-16-2004, 11:18 AM
Ujin - :(
07-16-2004, 12:22 PM
According to someone over at Fox, they only let the people who got in know of their status. Ujin, are you sure that you were rejected?
07-17-2004, 11:24 PM
Nope - it's a rejection.
To have been notified so quickly while everyone else waits... my script must really have sucked worse than usual. :lol
07-18-2004, 01:40 AM
I don't know why, but I don't think that's true.
I imagine that you were notified early because you were one of the ones weeded out from the pile of scripts that was close.
07-19-2004, 10:08 AM
Yeah, I think you're right Boobsie. My email was personalized---and directly from Ron Taylor, head of the Diversity Program over there. Used my name AND the title of my script. Damn it, so close!
07-19-2004, 12:45 PM
Has everyone received their responses? I sent my stuff through an agent and although he says he sent it, one can never be entirely sure. Since responses are coming back and I haven't gotten one, I am suspect of the agent really sending it out (which would suck because I put a lot of hard work into it.) Would Fox contact the agent or me?
07-22-2004, 09:22 AM
Indy- Mine was sent through my manager and it was sent directly by email to me. The uncertainty of waiting sucks, but it's way better than rejection. :)
07-22-2004, 03:55 PM
yeah...i havent heard back either.
i'm starting to suspect the postal service. a lot of mail was sent out on the 15th...i hope mine didn't fall through the cracks:(
07-23-2004, 06:09 PM
If you haven't heard, you haven't gotten in. They only notified those who made it to the next level... And Ujin, apparently.
Ujin, I'm pretty positive your hearing so quickly means you were very close. You should be proud.
