I noticed there aren't as many current threads or replies to threads as I've noticed in my brief history with this (beloved) message board. Is it because everybody was busy with last-minute contest entries? Brads, loglines, 2 cover sheets, (one on plain paper with title and contact info, the other on stock with just title), and the final, final rewrite of that scene that keeps irking you?

Yeah, me too.

How many entered more than one contest? Which one(s) do you want to do well in the most? Who's never gonna enter a contest again if they don't place in any this year?

I entered one script in three contests: Austin, Nicholls, and Sundance. If I don't win any, which is likely for anyone, I'll keep plugging away.

I recently completed my third script, which I think is good enough to enter in a contest. However, it seems like all the contests occur at the same time, and I've missed all the deadlines.

Is this true? Do all the contests happen at the same time? Is there really a "contest season"? And if so, why?

As for the whys and wherefores, I couldn't say. The late spring deadlines allow the contests to determine winners by autumn, which may be good timing in advance of the upcoming production/fiscal year? I can only speculate. With such a small sample size, it may simply be random.
