Since we're discussing whether PGL really wanted Horror scripts in another thread let's cut to the chase --
IMPORTANT: This free contest is looking for the "next, great John Carpenter film." That means it is only open to suspense scripts – great stories that build slowly to a shattering conclusion. Think Halloween, think Escape From New York, think John Carpenter's The Thing.
If this doesn't describe your script, please don't submit it. Save a tree, your postage, and our time. Inappropriate screenplays submitted to this contest will receive quick triage (meaning, they will be immediately thrown into the trash).

THE PRIZE: The winner will receive a $500 option on their screenplay (enough to pay their attorney) against a six-figure purchase price with production bonuses, and the winning script will be read by writer/director John Carpenter.
The top ten finalists will receive honorable mention in CS Daily.
