No peer review so you just enter and wait for the results.

The best thing about is that Francis Coppola judges the final round personally. It is kind of cool to think that Coppola might actually read your screenplay.

I hope they keep it going.

Nowadays Zoetrope winners are mostly quirky dramas.

For a man who made Godfathers -- how come he does not have a category
for MAFIA scripts?

I'm curious if they have an "extended" deadline? As of now, it is Sept. 8th, but, as we know, sometimes contests extend it beyond the "extended" deadline.

Anybody familiar with this particular one?

ive done the worst in this contest even if i do well in some of the other majors in that same year. really not sure what they like.

I've never cracked Zoetrope either. They're either really tough or looking for something I couldn't deliver. I imagine those who advance get noticed.

I was a quarter finalist and it helped me to get a couple of reads of queries. From what I've heard of the up there finalists, the contest doesn't have a whole lot of clout. It is one of the cheaper contests, and if you can get it in on the early deadline, that's great. I'm not going to throw anymore money at contests, maybe the Nicholl if I can make the dealine, only got like 10 months or something like that, so Better get buzzy. Buzzzzzzz
