Want to take a class from a working pro screenwriter?

After doing 2 day seminars for the past few years in London... I'm doing my Script Secrets Seminar in Los Angeles again.

Beverly Garland Hotel in Studio City (near Universal)
April 24 & 25, 2004
Only $200 if you register before 4/10 - THAT'S SUNDAY!

SCRIPT SECRETS is an INTENSIVE two day course - screenwriting stripped of the theoretical nonsense! You'll spend all day Saturday and Sunday learning techniques that will improve your dialogue, description, story and screenwriting abilities! Plus a section on selling your script and managing your screenwriting career! Class includes a 120 page workbook with exercises, assignments (homework), forms and additional materials... plus a Swag Bag filled with goodies!

This course strips away all of the silly theories to focus on the bare essentials of screenwriting: finding the right idea, improving your story, structure, dialogue, description, visuals and characters. A screenplay should be as exciting to read as the movie will be to view, and that requires writing designed to involve the reader and audience. Learn *creative* ways to solve script problems and improve your script! Using proven techniques, the course will guide you from idea to screenplay to polish to selling the script. Script Secrets is designed so that both beginners and professionals will come away with techniques they can use to improve their scripts.

The same class at the Raindance Film Festival in London would cost you $550 (US) - and it sells out!

Can I buy out a block of seats for my church group? And is there a discount for volume registration?

Rectal Bill, your comment was uncalled for.

Bill Martell is one of the good guys. I have already learned so much by reading his book and browsing his web site. He tells it the way it is, and has the experience to back it up.

I have no doubts that anyone who attends his Script Secrets seminar will be better off for it.

But in answer to the question - why not? Works for THE PASSION, right?

If you have a large church group that wants to take my class - e-mail me. In fact, if you have a group of 10 writers and want to buy a block of admissions at a discount - e-mail me.

Thanks, Bill. It's a fundamentalist screenwriting group. We typically reject any dogma that came after Syd Field, but we're trying to keep an open mind. I'll let them know.

I know this probably identifies me as a pagan (like those folks in that WICKER MAN movie), but my first produced script was 2 years *before* Field's book was published.

Since that time I've had 16 other scripts produced and several other sales - but your group may still believe I'm worshipping a false god. That's cool.

Bill,

I have to be in LA the weekend BEFORE your fab confab or I'd be there with bells on. If you can find a way to convince the state to change the CBEST to your weekend, then I'm there...hurry before I turn blue...

Do you have any new books or booklets out? I'm very fond of the ones I have, but I like variety. :D

Susan,

I'm doing a test in Phoenix, and if that class goes well I'm probably take my class out on the road... and that means I may be coming to you.

I'll be putting my house on the market as soon as it's painted so I may be in LA before you get here. Or we'll pass each other on the road...:)

Hey Bill, you forgot Boston! Next time you head over to London, take a rest stop and teach a seminar in these nether-territories! :D

I didn't forget Boston - I think it's on my list of cities to expand to if Phoenix does well.

Is Houston on your list? From Phoenix, it’s just a ‘straight shoot’ through Comanch’ country.
