Any scoop on this? I scrolled down a few months and did a search and didn't find anything.

$75/script seems a little steep when the main prize is a lovely plaque. They say that they promote winners to the industry, but so do the Nicholl folks, for all the good being a quarterfinalist has done me. ;)

Also, I guess I get points with them for being a woman writer, but their website suggests that they're down on violence -- and I have plenty of it in my screenplays.

Bottom line, is it worth applying? I know moviebytes has a score card, but my subscription expired and I don't want to re-up just to get this info.

If you have violence in your sp, save your $75. (that is steep) It won't get anywhere with them, regardless of your sex.

I entered Moondance two years ago, and that was the last I heard of my money. Script was a thriller, not too much violence, but was obviously not their "cup of tea". Don't know what they are looking for, but I agree the entrance fee is a bit steep. I'm a woman writer as well. I entered because I thought my script, which in the end promotes applying love and understanding to solve conflict, might be something they would like.

I agree, Pea.
I entered a couple of years ago too and never heard anything from them. Bad business.
