For those entering PGL:
Can Final Draft convert files into an Adobe Acrobat file?
How are all of you converting your files?
I tried to scan mine, but it created a file that was too big.

If you sign up for Zoetrope.com, you get to upload one script without first reading four others. You can upload a Final Draft file, and the nice folks at Zoe will convert it to pdf for you. When they do, check it over to make sure the page count is the same as it was on your Final Draft document, and then you can take that converted file and submit it to PGL.
Just make sure you don't include your title page when you submit to Zoe. If your Final Draft document has a title page, erase the title page and save it as a different document (i.e. "DamnGoodScriptNoTitlePage) and then submit it.
There ya go. It's free.
And Zoetrope rules.
And they're not paying me for this endorsement...

Why no title page? Are we not supposed to have a title page for PGL? (I know we can't have our name, but I assumed we could have a title page with only the title of the screenplay...)

Can Final Draft convert files into an Adobe Acrobat file?
For FD 6, once your script is completed goto File and Save As then goto File Format and choose PDF or goto File then Print then Save As PDF.
The Title Page will be part of the document.

You may be right about the title page. I haven't read the requirements; I'm submitting a scene this year instead of a script.
Does FD 6 give the right page count when it's "Saved As" a pdf file? I remember on the now-defunct PGL boards that people were frustrated that their 115-page darlings were clocking it at like 140 when they were converted.
Sounds like an easier conversion than the Zoetrope thing, though. Good call.

Does FD 6 give the right page count when it's "Saved As" a pdf file?
I just checked to see how many pages it would give me. FD 6 States 71 pages w/o title, Adobe Acro states 72 pages which includes title page.
I can only assume it's aok to save as a pdf, it'll keep everything as is.
14 days to go.

Rachel: forgive me if this is a dumb question, but this is my first year entering PGL... when you say you're submitting a scene, not a screenplay, I assume you mean that you're entering the director competition?
Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some separate writing competition for individual scenes...

Yup. I'm entering the director contest. That is, if I can get this scene I've finished to NOT SUCK. Thankfully, I've got a little time before the deadline.

Yay
I just upgraded to FD 6. When it saves to pdf, it keeps page count (and more importantly, page breaks) the same.
It assigns a title page, but you can leave it blank. Or I'm sure if youre technically inclined (im not) there's a way to delete it.
