Did anyone else enter the Fade In contest? I think they announce the winners in February, but does anyone know when they announce quarter-finalists or semi-finalists?

Fade In answered my email and said they hope to announce semi-finalists around February 1.

No, actually. Fade In magazine is showing the winners of a different contest. From elsewhere on the page:

"Winners of the 2004 Fade In Awards will be announced February 15, 2005. Over $10,000 in prizes will be awarded thereafter, including the Grand Prize and up to 16 finalists."

There has been some controversy regarding this contest in the past. It seems one of the winners was very dissatisfied with the results and became outspoken over it on the internet. Of course, every story has more than one side.

I just wish my magazines would arrive as scheduled. I believe they publish each issue about three months late. I am receiving maybe two a year instead of four.

Let me re-group here -

The contest featured on Fade-In's page is the Writer's Network 11th Annual Screeplay and Fiction contest. It is NOT the 3d annual Fade In competition. I guess I don't know when they will announce the winners. Being punctual with anything is not a trait associated with Fade In.

Why not give them a call on the phone?

Okay, everyone is getting confused with this I think. This is the deal, we all entered the 8th annual contest, Fade-In now has an ad running for the 9th annual contest. The 9th annual one is being announced Feb2005, the one we are waiting on should be anytime this month, 2004.

This was the official word I got at Zoe.

Someone on another Message Board said that it would be 10 day until the post the winners. Apparently, they are mailing out notifications as we speak (er...type).
