I'm trying to find a good hotel near the Convention Center - where have you guys made your reservations?

Check their website (http://www.screenwritingexpo.com) for hotels near to the LA Convention Center.
Looking at the AAA guide book anything interesting seems to be north of the Center...

i've learned the hard way not to trust the books or the websites - i'd like to know what places the discerning screenwriter would frequent over at CSX2.
where r u headed, RK?

I'm staying at the Figueroa. I stayed there last year and liked it. It's only three or four blocks from the Expo. The closest one (I think) is the Holiday Inn. I haven't stayed there, but I'm sure it's nice (the exterior looked good anyway). That one is only about 2 blocks from the Expo.
I would try to get a room at one of those if I were you. Being within walking distance was very convenient last year. And it cut down on the cost of cabs.
Have fun.

I think it's already too late to get a reservation at a hotel that's within walking distance. That happened to me last year. But, you can go the the next closest Holiday Inn Downtown b/c they have a shuttle (every half hour) to the Holiday Inn that's right there and you can save on the taxi fare.

I just grabbed a cheaper room at the Wilshire Grand up the street at the group rate from the CS website.
*thanks to Wenonah - someone should grab her room at the Figueroa.
--So how bout a DD get together at one of the hotels closer to the Center? They've outlawed screenwriters here in Miami - I'd love to meet some of you guys. Besides, it's no secret it's really US who'll be running things a year or two from now.

I'm staying at the Marriott - somewhere.
Are you going to the networking party? Maybe we could synchronize watches and meet in a corner.

Question is when are people getting in?
Myself and Paul (co-writer) are getting in early Thursday.
Doing the Networking Party thing on Saturday, pitches on Sunday Afternoon and workshops inbetween. We close to the Con Center so no wheels.
Kill Bill sounds like a must. I'd suggest a Bruins game but that's Saturday during the Networking party....
...and should we shoot a post/flare up into 1on1 so we widen our chances of seeing people...?
