Writer/director Mark Romanek will helm Universal Pictures' horror redo "The Wolfman", based of course on the classic 1941 film of the same name. The project, starring Benicio Del Toro and written by scribe Andrew Kevin Walker, retains its time period of 1941 and centers on a man who while returning from the United States to his ancestral home in Victorian-era Great Britain, is bitten and takes on quite a hairy existence come nightfall. "The Wolfman" is looking to begin filming in the fall and is targeted for a 2008 release.
Mark Romanek's last directorial effort was the 2002 psychological thriller "One Hour Photo".

Actually, Mark Romanek's directorial debut was 1986's "STATIC".

Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night. May become a wolf, when the wolfbane blooms, and the autumn moon is bright.
