A manager who read my script loved it and wants to read my other sps. I do have another finished script to send her, but it's a first draft. (I don't have time to rewrite it since I'm knee-deep in a rewrite of another script that another manager is waiting for.)
So here's my question - do I tell this manager that the script I am sending is a first draft, or should I not say anything?
Thanks.

If it's good enough to send to a manager, then who cares what draft it is? If it's not good enough to send to a manager, then why are you sending it to one?

I'm sending it to the manager because she's asked to read whatever else I had (in addition to the script she's already read and liked). I think this script is also very good but (again)... do I say something about it being a first draft or do I say nothing?

I think what ravens is saying - and I agree with her -
Is that it's either ready or it's not. At this stage you do not want to send her work in progress, which is really what you're implying by saying it's a first draft.
So if you are happy with it, send it.
If you try to qualify it by saying it's only a first draft, you're setting yourself up for a pass.

If it were me, I either wouldn't send it if I didn't think it was ready and be honest with her about how long it would take for me to get it ready (I'll have it to you by the end of January) or I wouldn't tell her it's a first draft.
How many ready-to-market scripts do you have? Can you send her something else?

I would tell the manager you have some polishing to do and would like to get it to her in January. Then give it priority for the next month. I don't think any manager would be upset because you want to show something in its best condition. And lucky for you, it's the end of the year and nothing much happens in the biz, so you really do have a solid month on your hands if you want it.
But if you feel the time is a problem (which it's not--really) then send it but don't say it's a first draft. The manager may think it's a masterpiece as is. You never know. It's always a game of chance.

Thanks for all of your posts and comments on this. I'm going to send the script without saying anything about its 'draft status.'
