Didn't it used to have a section at the back of the mag dedicated to scritps sales over the last edition?

What happend to that?

Didn't it used to have a section with production companies that would accept unsolicited material.

What happened to that? It's not even in the email any more.

I gotta admit doubler that this is something that pi$$ed me off with the mag last time. they always seem to be messing with it.

For me, getting production company tips is a big factor for me keeping the magazine subscription.

I'd imagine it's the same for a lot of other people as well. It's a life-line to these companies (and damn interesting to read and keep and file away).

The last time I used one of their leads I was given a curt email response saying 'no material please'. I then told them that CS had advertised them as 'open to submissions' which they said wasn't true, and that they should expect a flood of emails from writers.

They wrote back to me saying they would contact CS and thanked me.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I got a subscription for Christmas from my wife and along with it came a PDF download of a bunch of companies, contacts and whether they accept unsolicted etc... but the current ones in the issues were always a nice bonus

I stepped down from writing that column a while back. And I think they thought that the information was available elsewhere online. I know people miss my humor. Not!

BTW, Creative Screenwriting, under Erik, made HS: http://lucyvee.blogspot.com/2007/06/hard-scrambled-review.html (http://lucyvee.blogspot.com/2007/06/hard-scrambled-review.html)

Yeah, I never knew aboutt he extra 2-hour dvd of writing and production tips and tutorials that came with it, so since Netflix isn't stocking it, yeah, I went out and ordered it...

I miss the humor! Used to be one of my favorite parts of the mag.

"They stole my idea!" :D

I was in Venice, Italy with my wife last week. And we were lost in some dark alley (Think Don't Look Now meets Se7en) and I said, "This neighborhood is so bad, if you yell rape, you'll get 4 offers."

I miss that column. ;-)

And pass on the word about Hard Scrambled. The movie has been getting 3ish stars and the bonus material 4-5ish stars. The filmmaking tutorials would sell for more than the entire DVD set as standalone educational DVDs.
