I apologise if a similar thread has been started, but does anyone know which production companies accept query letters, apart from Benderspink and 2929. Specifically ones that are open to all genres.
And what has been your experience with querying them.
Thanks in advance.
Most companies openly say they do not accept unsolicited queries. My experience is that every company, whether they say they accept query letters or not, will respond if they love your query. So, write a great a query, make a specific target list and send to everyone on that list. You may just get some 'yes's' from companies that openly say 'no'. Why limit yourself by sending only to those who say they accept?
I don't trust online submittal forms as it seems they probaby have some unpaid student intern go through the inbox as a way of avoiding having to do it themselves. That said, I've been accepted by Benderspink (by an intern) on the same day I've queried, and rejected by them, again by that same intern, very promptly. Can't say that I'm fond of an intern judging my idea/query.
I've queried 2929 several times. It's like listening to paint dry. You never know what you're going to get...so query everyone on your target list.

I agree, check around to see who makes films of the budget and type that you make, and send them a great logline, whether or not they say they accept queries.
Some may say to send it, but only through an agent or entertainment attorney. If you don't have representation, ask if they'll let you sign a release form. You can pay an attorney to mail your script for you, but I don't think it's worth the expense. Somewhere way north of 999 times out of 1000, the company that requests your script is not going to buy it.
If your script is good enough to sell, let one of the other companies buy it -- one that doesn't require you to pay an attorney to send it out. Get an attorney when you have a deal on the table.

Just another thought -
When I query, I never pay any attention to whether they advertise whether they accept submissions or not. That's with producers at any rate. I've had it go the opposite way so many times it's just meaningless.
You never know when an assitant may perk up to your pitch and throw out the "rule book" , or on the opposite end of the scale they're so swamped they can't take another project no matter what. Just be quick and to the point and don't take it personally if they say no because it isn't intended that way.
