Those scum got better treatment than they deserved...

Their names should've been printed in full.

That article is amazing and obviously a bit horrifying. To scab or not to scab... is there a question!? I've been going nuts because I finally had a prodco request my animated script. I'm a non-member, and wouldn't officially be breaking the rules, because of the animated feature out (they retracted that rule), but I'm still uncertain that I can go through with it and submit with this atmosphere.... any suggestions?

That doesn't look real to me, I think the same person has written all of the responses.

Submitting your script to a WGA signatory during the strike, whether you are a member or not, is in fact officially considered scabbing. It has nothing to do with when you "accept payment."

Thanks John! I've been trying to figure out what I can regarding the official rules, but then there's part of me that wants to take the moral high ground and not submit a darn word of writing until it's resolved. But then, the sensible side of me argues and says, it's not breaking the rules... but then... haha! I think my ability to make a good business decision has gone on strike...

I'm sorry, I don't think you understood.

It IS breaking the rules. Submitting to a WGA sig during the strike -- whether you are a WGA member OR NOT -- IS scabbing. That is the WGA's official stance on the matter.

There are a lot of folks tossing around conflicting information and individual opinions, so thanks for clearing that up for DDers. Hopefully this gets settled soon, so all these hypotheticals become academic!

Hear, hear!

Let's hope all that Thanksgiving tryptophan puts everyone in a good mood for the negotiating table. :)

I'm not in the WGA and wouldn't pitch to a WGA sig during a strike.

It's those who get paid millions to write scripts and be showrunners that scab (while talking out of both sides of their a-holes) that are more worthy of being exposed considering they can hardly claim poverty as their excuse.
