... Couldn't they have come up with a better name (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i577dd542a7c0999a4a6a1ea05e4b1ecd)? It also would seem odd that they don't find a film like "Diary of the Dead" to be fit to be released under their Dimension Films label... :| ?

I think the implication is that "Diary of the Dead" is not as mainstream as Romero's other horror stuff -- and all films from that company are going to be under 3.4 mil.

While the occasional 1 or 2 million dollar movie like "Saw" can break out, I've heard that distributors really prefer to see 8-12 million for a marketable theatrical release. The lower budget movies are much more token theatrical >> all money on DVD.
