Newbie question about contest placement and agents

My first script was a finalist in the recent Acclaim Films Screenplay Contest. Last week I sent out queries (after getting tel. general invitations) to a whole slew of agencies. Is there anyway I can let these people know about the placement? Or is it pointless, since my initial query is probably still sitting in a pile somewhere?

Jim. Don't assume your initial queries are just sitting in a pile. Agencies do open their mail.

My advice about your contest placement: Save that for future queries. BTW, congrats on becoming a finalist!
