Hi, everyone. I met a guy who happens to work as a product-placement guy at Spyglass. I mentioned my script to him, he read it. He said it was "pretty bloody" and ended up just giving it back to me, but proudly said that they're doing the Pacifier.

Oh no! It's got blood in it! @#%$! But honestly, it's no more bloody than anything else that's playing right now or recently.

But I've some things on here about product-placement playing a big part in screenplays, and of course, movies.

So I want to know if any of you think that this was a legit read, considering he's a product-placement dude?

I was hoping he would toss it over to the creative side.
Thanks for any responses.

you took a shot and threw it at the gatekeeper who was accessible to you. unfortunately, it stopped with him because of his objection. just keep trying.

sure, he could be an exec in a year or two, who knows? it's only still one opinion. if you believe in the script, keep doing what you're doing, and maybe make a more conscious effort to pitch companies that don't have an aversion to blood.

my opinion, anyway...

hey, an opinion is better than no opinion. Thanks for telling me to keep pushing and focus on companies that are more down with my material. The thing was that I literally had the script right there when I met him. One of those spur-of-the-moment things.

My script was recently requested by an exec. VP at Spyglass - I cold called - assistant requested an email with a brief overview of the project - a week later I got an email back saying the exec. VP had looked at the email and requested the script - and here comes the punchline...yes, it has blood in it.

Try someone else in the hierarchy :-)

That's excellent. Congrats. I think I'll give that a try. Maybe your guy will know that the blood isn't actually ON the pages, but only in the words. Best of luck to you!

Well, they're definitely a legit operation. Shooting a movie here in New Orleans even as we speak.

From people who work on the set, I believe it's about a group of kids who play a violent video game. As the characters in the game get knocked off one by one, so do the kids.

At least that's what I've heard through the grapevine.
