Anyone have any experience with these? I asked for feedback on a script I sent to a small German producer. His short reply: "a film fonds manager is reread your script". What am I to gleen from that? Other then his English is like my German.

Thanks,

Joe

My script also went to the head of a film fund via a German producer I hooked with in Cannes. He liked the scrpt but then left that film fund. it sort of faded after that.

The funds took a bit of a nose dive a few years ago, as have UK tax based funds mostly due to changes in government law. The goal posts are always moving in that area so if you do get a bite I would do some research into that fund to see if it's sound.

A few years ago I pitched another German company aligned with German tax money which was also based in LA. The dev. person really liked the concept and was about to pitch it to her boss. She'd also read my scripts and liked my writing so I thought I was close to something. A week later I received an email from someone informing me that the company had gone into liquidation after investing in a remake that bombed. Another near miss for the memoirs!
