He's non-signatory with the WGA.
Any information much appreciated.

I met a writer who was repped by him. "WAS" being the key word. I emailed him after I saw your post and his words were "nice guy but not worth the time." He also suspected that agenting was his part time gig.

Do you mind asking your email friend if I could email him to further discuss his experience?

He doesn't want his email out. Give your email or ask a specific question on here.

The fact that he's non-signatory should tell you enough, no?

Not necessarily Hamboogul.
I spoke with a producer today who's been repped by this agent. His film's premiering in a film festival next week. He had nothing but glowing reviews about Max. He didn't charge a fee up front, abides by WGA guidelines and one of his screenwriters was recently optioned by Steven Spielburg, so he's well connected.
He told us people who have produced films can't easily get signatory status with the WGA. They consider it a conflict of interest, which isn't necessarily so.
Positive feedback from someone who has been repped by an agent is all I need to proceed.
