Sitting her watching THE ITALIAN JOB and a commercial comes on about THE SHIELD. According to the commercial the "Final Season" comes Fall '08. Geez, finally! :p

My wife made me shelves all six seasons on DVD for like 4 months until she had time to sit down and watch them with me.

We just started and are halfway through the first season. He's a very naughty man, isn't he?

This is my all-time favorite TV show. For you to be able to watch it for the first time... man, I'm jealous.

Funny, I've been rewatching the series and just got done the 3rd disk of season three. I love the show but I can never get past the fact that no one ever asks for a lawyer.

Ok, we're halfway through season five. Has anyone else noticed that this show has one serious ass fetish? I swear they manage to contrive a naked rear end into almost every episode.

I just found out the other day (because my bike was stolen and I had to report it to the police) that I live in the precinct that the shield takes place. They originally titled the show "Rampart" after my friendly neighborhood police station. They should tell you these things before you move in. Colors was set here too. Makes me think twice about calling 911.

I just love how Chiklis changed for this one. Great series, even though in Finland we are on 6th season starting soon. Been waiting that for some time..

I read all about the Rampart scandal out of curiosity not long after I started watching the show. Some of the sh1t those guys pulled make Vic and the gang look like choir boys.

The Shield is a fantastic show! Chilling season 5 finale, and season 6 was a great build-up for things to come in the Final Act.

anyone know if this season will finally be widescreen? I got directv solely for fx hd which will still be life altering with rescue me and its always sunny but im getting sick of these pillar boxed shield episodes. since theyve stopped shooting 16mm i cant understand why they havent changed the aspect ratio.

I'm guessing it'll stay full-screen. The new Sony DVDs of The Shield are presented in widescreen, but it's not the right aspect ratio; what they did is make it widescreen from a full screen master (it's shown overseas 16x9).

Are they? The last season I downloaded the french bit torrents because they aired two episodes a week and the only real language change was 'avec michael chiklis' in the opening credits but I never paid attention to the frame size. Plot was so good I was oblivious to everything else. I'll never understand why they didn't tailor it for hi def televisions when they switched to hi def cameras. Guess I'm just being picky though.

I did the same thing, I got the French episodes in English, and I remember they were in fullscreen. The S6 DVD looks to have some cool extras. (Sony is presenting the show in widescreen on DVD, not sure about TV as that's up to the networks over there, me thinks.)
