There's such a free flow of information here. I have asked for and received contact information about industry people, and I try to return the favor.
But I have learned the hard way that if someone gives you their card, you can't assume that means they want the whole world to have that same contact info. If you didn't get the info from somewhere very public like the HCD, make sure the person wouldn't mind your posting it.
Advice from the producer whose info I shouldn't have posted:
"It's such a shot in the dark, writers should focus on junior execs and agency assistants who read these letters and need to find a needle in a haystack*for their*own advancement."
In other words, higher level producers like her already have a full plate, so it makes more sense to contact people just starting out who are looking for the script that will make their careers. If they like it, they'll pass it on.
