Anyone have any info on Delphinius Talent Management? They are located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Just got an offer for representation. Can only find lots of questions about them, but no one has any answers. When I googled Brohas-Gulacsy I found her name as a clerk-typist as of September 03, so all I know about her is she maybe can type. Anyone have any other information?

They are currently looking at a script of mine. Had it now for coming on two weeks.
I too found very little information on them, only that they are new, but had no complaints yet either.
Samesther - A few questions if I may.
How long did it take them to get back to you on your script?
With their offer of representation, was there a pitch by them for money at all?
Did they give you any reason not to let them represent you other than they are new?
Thanks.

Spoke with Cynthia and she was very personable. Says she is a resource company for Disney. She also admits that Delphinius is a new company with her partners Ken and Nick. Also states that they are connected yet I am unsure how connected they may be. She sent me a contract, which was "writer friendly" and easy to read. They do not ask for any upfront fees but only charge the usual 10% commission upon sale. It took two weeks after I queried her to here anything back and they accepted my script. I decided to sign with Delphinius, knowing that I could back out of representation at any time. To this point, my experience with Delphinuis has been fine. I'll post if things change.

Delphinius has announced that they are closed to new submissions until September.

...came today. Cy wrote me a very thoughtful, helpful and critical letter informing me they liked the concept very much but the structure needed a few fixes. She invited me back to resubmit in September when they will be looking again.
For those moving forward with them, best of luck.

It doesn't mention that they aren't accepting submissions on their site. It does however mention that they have offices in Wisconsin and Florida, as opposed to CA.

I just received an email stating they are done with their "new client sweep". Doesn't say when they will be accepting new submissions.

I am going through almost the same angst!
My spec was accepted for representation by Delphinuis as well as a few others.
Trying to make up my mind....a tought hing to do when you don't have many details!
What hard facts do we know about them? Do they really have a Disney pipeline? Track record?
Turnleft...what happened after your phone call?

They lavished praise on my submission, but weren't accepting clients until Sept. Hence, the praise was false. It's my view that they aren't located in a show business center and can do very little.

I must have made it in just under the buzzer!

Mub,
Been receiving numerous emails from Cy at Delphinius with her efforts in querying a long list of production companies. She has been keeping all her clients up to speed with every move she makes.

Come on, people! Delphinius?? Florida??? Are you kidding me? The list of companies with first look deals @ Disney/Touchstone is available and this one's not on it. My guess is someone went to school with someone who is an assistant there or something... And fyi, managers don't query long lists of prodcos. They call those who look for a certain kind of material. How do they know who's looking for what if they aren't even present in CA or even NY? How can they possibly know people or expect them to take their calls if no one has ever heard of them? I certaily never did... As for queries, you can write them all by yourself without giving anyone 10%...

Again, the consensus is an out of state agency is worthless.

Trying to break in is more difficult then script writing. So if someone wants to take on the job of marketing or sending queries, so be it. Since no cash is involved, what odes any one of us have to lose?
What we are looking for here is real information. Anybody have any?

The company is not listed in STUDIO SYSTEM -
neither are the principles.
Hence, there is no info to share.

<<what odes any one of us have to lose?>>
The production companies will promptly reject the script, studios will promptly pass on script. Script is burnt. After your script hit everyone in town, no respectable rep would want it. That's what you have to lose.

LvyLilly is right:
Who needs Delphinius when you can do all the leg work yourself and know what bridges your burning? They sound like nobodies to me.
I'm new to this site and find it :hat very valuable. You can ask questions about prod. cos etc., and get almost immediate answers. Plus they e-mail you when you get a response.
My compliments to the staff.
If Delphinius has earned you an option or sale tell us about it.:hat

I don't know, Samesther, I reckon the tough part might be the writing. Chatting with screenwriters who are repped, most see their agent or manager as a positive, but there are those who have gone the attorney route rather than team up with someone who can't help. I'd have thought an entertainment representative based outside LA would be of little use when it comes to breaking new talent.
Cheers,
Chris
