I have requests for reads by different agents at the same large agency.
I submitted to agent #1 Two weeks ago and have not heard back and recieved a request from agent #2 yesterday.Should I submit it to #2 as well. If my script is passed by agent #1 could it still in be in play with agent #2 ?.
What is the proper etiquette?.

I am in the same situation. Gave scripts to two friends. Both said they would take to their agents, turns out they are at the same agency.
When I met the first agent (a partner), I mentioned to him that another agent at his agency was looking at my work as well. He genuinely seemed not to care. Weeks later, I mentioned in a "by the way" way to the other agent (a junior) that the partner also had the scripts. (this was via email).
Now it's been another two weeks since I've heard from either of them. Next month I'll hopefully have a friend submit the feature I've been working on to yet another agent at this agency. (the other stuff was TV)
In my case, I felt there was no sense in me trying to control or coordinate efforts, I have no idea what kind of relationship the agents might have. They might hate each other, they might simply sit in different camps, they might be in a mentor/protege relationship. As long as I didn't do anything that could be perceived as deceptive or trying to play them, I figured it wasn't my problem.
If I remember correctly norgard, you said agent #1 was a rather big agent. where does number 2 rate? Unless I knew of a specific reason not to, I would send in the script and mention in the cover letter that it was very RECENTLY submitted to the other agent. Let them sort it out.
OR tell agent number two that you're working on a rewrite to buy yourself some time in case the coverage on your script comes back less than glowing. Then you can actually do a rewrite and resubmit to agent number two.
I think the only etiquette you should concern yourself with is doing anything that might make either of them look foolish because that's all they care about.

Thanks Jim,
this is a diffrent agency mentioned from a previous post. A friend got me the first read and the second was a response from a blind query (unexpected). Both are high profile agents at Big 3's. I know a agent of this stature will probably not take on a newbie even if they like the material so I am hoping one will at least refer me to a junior at the firm. Do you think I should mention the fact that the script is being read by another agent?. I have not sent the script to the second. Or delay sending it , see what they say. If it's a pass try to re-submit with a revised version like you suggested.

not sure i understand.
if they are at different agencies, by all means send your script to the second agent, especially if he's responding to a blind query. seems like a sign of real interest.
if you think there's a chance you will get the coverage or at least get notes from agent one, then wait a week or two.

Diffrent agents but same agency. Neither is a personal contact.
Thanks again Jim
