Hi everyone,

Just found this via Boing Boing:

Apart from the revelation that the backstory for Indiana Jones was that he was probably technically a pedophile (or at least having affairs with 12 to 15 year old girls) this is an incredible insight to the story and characters.

How did people share this stuff before the internet ?

Similarly with the protagonist of "The English Patient" who, in real life, was a Nazi sympathizer, a fact which was, ahem, erased from the movie so as to make Ralph Fiennes more of a romantic hero and not some Hitler-loving aristocrat.

It's called being selective. Happens all the time in movies based on fact.

You ask about how people shared this before the Internet. Through books, mostly, as well as published correspondence and, of course, the testimony of those who were there at the time.

wow. Do you know how honored I'd have been to be chillin' with Spielberg and Lucas going over a movie to right. Just tossing ideas out and enjoying the hell out of it for hours on end. That was one awesome exchange.

Makes you think about how to brainstorm and to work on your idea and not rule out anything that and try to work with things.
