I wrote about this in another thread but thought I might give my own gripe a life of its own.

So: Where are my stinkin' DVDs?

And: Does anyone ever answer the phone at CS?

And: Do you have a policy of not acknowledging orders as they come in?

And: Do you also have a policy of not answering emails when they are sent to you?

What a weird, stupid way of doing business.

Angrily,

I wish I could help ya out.

I did however get my March/April issue of CS in the mail today, so maybe your DVDs will show up shortly now.

I've waiting near 30 days, sent an email to the listed support page. I'm giving that 7 days then emailing Ben myself.

It is probably good to make a refund claim on the credit card sooner rather than later.

There are usually time limits - mine gives me a month to dispute charges. After that - too late.

And in today's financial climate, isn't there a good chance the magazine could go belly up?

Non-delivery of orders is one of the clues that hint at cash-flow problems.
There have been threads about how they haven't followed up with promised prizes in other areas.
Heck - even their website still has 'Under Construction' for some pages (including 'About Us' !?') and the 'Contact Us' page talks about contacting them for the upcoming 2007 Expo ! Interestingly 2007 is also the year the magazine (and expo) were sold to Inside Information Group.

If 'Creative Screenwriting' wasn't a known name before 2007, would you be trusting them with any money at all ?

Since you can also buy them from the Writer's Store - why would you risk giving any money to them ?

According to the BBB, at least five people have used the BBB to get full refunds - or to get Inside Information Group to agree to fulfull the terms of their contract. Want to make it a sixth ?

just a thought to add as it sounds like an angry group here.

not to be "pro" no-name business or anything like that but i've had a background in customer service so i thought i'd add a (hopefully) helpful suggestion here.

i had a recent error with an order at CS about a month ago. i emailed them and also followed up with a phone call message. i was contacted within a day and they corrected my problem by sending a new shipment of dvd's.

i guess what i'm trying to add is that we often forget the nature of the internet allows for a massive amount of incoming anonymous information. complaints without cause can be a huge problem for businesses and weeding through those to find genuine errors that need correcting can take some time. it might help to call and leave them a message. i know it did with my situation.

sincerely,

i wonder if the grand prize winner even got his 20k cuz its starting to sound like the expo contest is being run by the woman who ran the fade in contest.

last week i filed for a refund from amex. we'll see what happens. i hope they don't respond, because at this point i'd rather not give them my business under any circumstances.
