Anyone know what would be the correct word for the "lobby" of a jail? I like to use the correct terminology.

Lobby would appear to the the accepted term, unless you're looking for inmate slang or something?

Inmate Canteen Account:
We only accept Money Orders in the Main Lobby of the Jail.

Telephones:
We have provided for your usage a Pay-Phone located in the Visitation Lobby waiting area.

Thanks, Ken.

Also glad to learn the authorities discourage you from leaving your children unattended in the lobby of the jail.
