Everybody says this. Ignore it. Depends to whom you emailed your query. Was it a producer or a manager? If yes, move on. They don't accept unsolicited material, indeed :)

I have about three dozens of these notes from legal dpts from CAA, WMA, ICM etc.

Hint : SOMETIMES, you can pull the email pattern by doing a whois search of the domain name.
