Anyone know anyone over at Millennium? I look to have a very good connection over there with one of Boaz Davidson's people. Would like to know if anyone's had any experiences.

Wilson, do you write? By your postings I thought you were mostly a fan and much less an actually writer!!!
You are very knowledeable no matter what. If you're trying to succeed as a writer too can you share what your experience has been like? Do you have a agent?

It's NuImage/Millennium Films, wilson. If you're going to have a relationship with a prodco, get the name right.

Manbandit - Correction noted!
My contact there simply referred to it as Milennium though, so I think it's okay.

Worked on a couple of their films doing props. From their website it is two seperate divisions.....
In 1996 Nu Image formed Millennium Films to address the market’s growing need for quality art films and higher budget action features, while Nu Image continued to cater to the lucrative world home video market. Between the two divisions, over 100 films have been produced since 1992.
Nu Image and Millennium Films continue to grow, with the company producing more than 20 pictures annually. Currently, many of our latest films feature top box office stars and find releasing through major motion picture studios.

oh, I see, very good! So you are a screenwriter too then, Wilson.
I'm only very curious to know because of your intelligent posts and analyses, what kind of things do you like to write? Drama? Thriller?
Please will you share! By the way, sorry if this is too private! I am just curios!

Ah, NuImage, headed by a man who claimed proudly that he "Never reads a script". Just the place for a tender young writer be violated and destroyed.;)

Sadly, there are too many execs around town who "don't read."

NuImage/Millenium tends to make movies with actors who are past their prime who are still clinging to the notion of getting their full quote.
If you look at their filmography, the list of films made is atrocious.

It's all about the packaging for that company.... Avi Lerner finds all the funding and makes all the deals (He's the one who doesn't read scripts:D, but I salute the guy -- He is a very wise businessman)
The way it works -- they find a somewhat commercial script -- they pitch it to a known International actor-- (that actor HAS to be a known International star -- which is very different to what we think of a star in the US... Certain people sell like crazy overseas and here can not open a movie. ) So, they pitch the movie with the attached star and a Movie Poster -- Get advanced money from all the different territories, they start shooting, once the movie is done they get a distribution deal here...
Then it's all about how much it makes overseas, not here -- sometimes they put the movie out in the US for a week just so people are aware and when it comes time for the DVD they'll remember and that's where they make their money...
They make a lot of movies, so if you have a good connection I would hit them up...
