Somebody take my Final Draft...please!

I have a copy of Final Draft V7 for sale. Still under warranty and valid for the current update to V8. I'm selling it because I'm horribly dissatisfied with it. It really didn't live up to my expectations at all. Anyhoo, I'm looking to get rid of it cheap (and buy MMS) so if anyone is interested drop me a privy message and I'll get back to you.

I can't use Ebay to sell it because there are some compatability issues with Ebay's seller screen and my internet browser. Smaller companies don't seem to have these issues, but a big corporate monolith like Ebay can't seem to get it right. Ahh, don't get me started.

Actually, according to my package they allow you to load it twice. For some weird reason I was able to load my V6 into three different laptops. Not sure about V7.

Are you sure about that, Wilson? Used to be that you could "deauthorize" Final Draft on your computer by calling FD. For example, let's say you had FD on a computer and the computer died. Common sense tells me there would have to be a way to load FD onto a new computer--they wouldn't make you buy it again.

I say the original poster should call FD and ask.

I've been through this exact same circumstance myself. For the exact same reason. FD 7 is horrible and has lots of bugs. I know, because I used FD 6 for years. I made the switch to MMS and have never looked back.

All you have to do is sell the package and have the new buyer notify Final Draft. From memory, I'm pretty sure the new buyer gets it like it was bought new (with 2 authorizations).

By the way, don't be expecting much for it. I practically had to give it away.

Yes you can resell it to another person. The buyer has to complete a Transfer of Ownership form and send it in to FD to complete the transfer. And the software does allow more than one download per customer as long as the subsequent computers belong to the purchaser. I'm not expecting to break even on this, just make some of my money back.

Having been using Final Draft for the last five years (I had Scriptware before that) I am just curious as to why you were so dissatisfied.
Also, did you find some software you prefer?
