I'd like this as well, if you found it?

You'll have an easier time getting a meeting with Spielberg than you will getting Biel to read your script.

Is that right? She was just complaining she was too beautiful to get any roles of substance sent her way.

I am all for positive thinking... BUT... Unless you have a few million dollars sitting around OR something set up with a production company/studio -- they WILL NOT ... nor with their REPS read your material. There is only one color of paper they want to see before opening your "Screenplay with Substance", and that color's not white.

Are you saying that B level talent like those 2 women won't read scripts or those 2 in particular?

A LOT of talent won't read scripts. Even Dustin Diamond won't read a script unless he gets paid $1k

If that's the case, it sounds like these prodcos may just be vanity companies. That was my first thought.

Most all actors have vanity companies... but on occasion, if you get it to them, they'll have their people read it (who aren't agents/managers) then they'll shepherd the project. Its happen before.

Though I do find a majority of actor's companies are pure vanity (even if they "hire" someone to run it).

Give me a minute, I think I've still got Biel's cell number in my little black book.

Dustin Diamond. You didn't just say Dustin Diamond, did you?

Now that's funny. Who the hell would pay him a dollar to read their script?

This is hilarious.

Jessica Biel is famous because she is hot. I've got no problem with that at all but for her to be pulling that sh!t is just comical. She has as much right to her status as Paris Hilton does and she has the nuts to be acting like she's Judy frickin Dench.

Hollywood is a fvcked up place.

Advice to the OP: Don't bother. Neither of these actresses can open, much less carry a movie.

Ever hear of a hugely successful show called 7th Heaven? Granted she's nowhere with a film career...but to put her and Paris together like that is an ill-informed statement. She earned her shot. She just hasn't done anything with it...and prefers to let her hotness do her acting for her. :D

Biel is more worried about who her flavor of the month is than her acting career. She has turn down several amazing roles...

Don't tease us!

OK fine. Maybe the Paris Hilton comment was a little over the top. I was trying to be emphatic.

The point is, she has no business acting like a diva if her list of credits are 7th HEAVEN and I NOW PRONUONCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY. I didn't see a single complete episode of 7th but I did see C & L and it sucked. Not only did it suck but, save for all the T&A(which was awesome, btw), she sucked.

She has no business acting like an A-lister.

Question for Screenquery.com: Since you say it's useless to approach a star with less than $1 million as an offer, why are you offering a "star package" on your site? Wouldn't that be a huge waste of money for writers? After all, if a writer already has $1 million in financing, they wouldn't need a site like yours to query actors.

Whoops, I misread: screenquery.com said you need at least two million dollars, not one, to make an offer.

Agreed. Now I'm going to have to rent that. What's with these Jessica's? First Alba, now Biel. So much hotness totally undercut by a lack of talent. The best thing both of them could do right now would be to ug up like Cameron Diaz in John Malkovich, or Charlize in Monster and try to earn some indie cred with a 'scale' paycheck.

Yep, that is right... Our rep approached her reps with the financial backing of a top production company, money exceeding her salary demands and a top exec referral for the script that her reps knew and they still refused to read it.

I find that hard to believe for two reasons: 1) Jessica Biel cannot open a picture. 2) She's really not that hot...to be honest.

Now if you wrote that about Megan Fox -- who's now the chick that everyone in Hollywood wants to dance with -- I could believe it.

The idea that actors wont read without getting paid isn't true. I'm sure in some cases it can be, but certainly not all cases.

Agents of up and coming talent WILL read without money if: (a.) they like the concept (b.) you can get a prod co interested.

Just in example, I got a hold of an agent of a very up and coming "child actor" from a... rather famous fantasy franchise... and he liked the concept and said they would love to read if we could get a prod co interested. So granted, they wanted things in place- but they will read without money on the table.

I hear that all the time too. But, having a production company interested is almost the same as having money on the table. Still an incredible accomplishment.

I might pitch Rosario Dawson a script idea -- just for s&g -- see what comes of it.

We have one experience of this.

We pitched a spec to an actresses' manager, and mentioned that we had her in mind when we wrote the female lead. The manager gave a brief response, copying in 2 other people (presumably execs at the same firm?) stating that they do not read specs, but if we get it set up, go back to them with an offer.

As for Jessica Biel, if she's so hot, why is she hanging around with a scruffy scrote like Timberlake?!

Well how you can use that to your advantage is then to casually slip that into the conversation with a Producer.

I crossed paths with a producer who didn't like one script idea, asked whatelse I had- I told him about that script and casually mentioned I had sent the logline to this actor and they said they would read it if submitted by a prod co. It just so happened the Producer was friends with the agent and said he would read it and if he liked it, get in touch with the rep shortly thereafter.

So you can use information like that as leverage to get reads you may not have received previously.
