Hello,
I am looking for some advice on searching out information.I use both the net and the library but with-out much luck for the information that I need.
Actually,I tried searching out crime in general and got some interesting information.
But I was having a real hard time finding out information on Gangs,Mobsters,Organized crime. Those are the areas I was most interested in but could find almost nothing. My interest is primarly the city of "New Orleans".
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thank-you.

New Orleans attracted a lot of attention when organized crime was revealed to exist by Police Chief David Hennessey, who was assassinated by the Matragna gang in 1890. This story was made into a movie-of-the-week by Nicholas Meyer, under the title "Vendetta" (1999).

Hello.
Which search engine are you using? I put the query "new orleans organized crime" to Google,
www.google.com/search?hl=...ized+crime (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=new+orleans+organized+crime)
and the list of results/sites seems quite promising, though I'm not reading the sites for actual content.
When I fail with Google, I try the search engine "kartoo",
www.kartoo.com/ (http://www.kartoo.com/)
It seems to use a different algorithm, and I find different results from an identical query fed to Google. It's a nice search utility, with some nice features.
You can also try searching USENET, the collection of internet newsgroups. Go to Google and select "Groups". If you're unfamiliar with it, USENET is more like an opinion-advice column than an unbiased encyclopeadia, but sometimes you'll also find that one secret word which will unlock your search. Or you'll find a dedicated community you can ask, say, alt.gansters.big-easy (apocryphal; and I'm sure it'd be filled with ads for porn sites and get-rich schemes anyway).
Not even as a last result, you can ask your local librarian!
Good luck!
