With a film has that had its ups and downs and frustrations — with director/Kato actor Stephen Chow who ran out....
Is this film cursed...

I certainly didn't see that coming.
Who cares, the Cage movie I'm waiting for is Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

You're actively anticipating a Nic Cage movie? The only thing I'm even vaguely morbidly cusious about is which wig he'll be sporting this time around?

Cage has very little to do with it. I think Herzog is the greatest living filmmaker, so I'll watch anything he does. He seems like he might be way off the rails on this Bad Lieutenant remake, but on the other hand it's like he knows I watched that fake Wicker Man comedy trailer on YouTube 100 times and is appealing to my specific tastes in comedy.

Yep, and it's reportedly a lame comedy that will probably (hopefully) end the superhero movie phase for a good decade.

The really sad thing is that Stephan Chow would have made this film so damn awesome if he were director and star. What happened there anyway? The guy probably realized that you get more creative freedom in China and walked.
I really hope they don't f*** up the martial arts scenes.
I hope they keep it slick -- for eg. -- ask the fight choeographer from Bourne Identity for advice....
QUESTION --
Who would be the
ideal fight choeorgrapher for those acute MMA-like KUNG FU
scenes in this new GREEN HORNET?
Last time I took notes from Bangkok Dangerous (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0814022/),
Nicholas Cage did illustrate a propensity for some very good martial arts techniques....
They're already in good company.

Gondry directing... so it will be ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE GREEN HORNET'S MIND.
Hard to imagine what this film will be, other than a mess.

I love Nic Cage. Has he ever been in a film with Samuel L Jackson?
I mean, I'm not inspired to write hollywood movies, but if I did, they're the two I'd want in it.

Gondry is a phenomenal director. Better than the source material, that's for sure.

But is it a superhero movie? Or a Seth Rogen comedy? Or a visually interesting indie? Or a Lone Ranger knock off? Or...
It seems like they have no idea what direction to take, so they're taking all of them.

The guy probably realized that you get more creative freedom in China and walked.According to recent interviews, it seems Chow's vision didn't really have the empathetic characters and camaraderie that the writers were looking for, and opted for sheer frenzy instead.
He's being replaced with Michel Gondry, which is an equally left-field choice.
