Cracking the whip over my storyboard and illustration artists, screaming at the top of my lungs over how bad the costume designs are, kissing butt at power-lunches, forcing my p.a.'s to get me fresh cappucinos and buffing my stiletto heels and...

Oh. Um. That was my inner monologue wasn't it... Um. Yes. Well then. I'll be, erm, working won't I...I'll be working the french fry machine next to Verbal...

Being discovered as the greatest screenwriter who ever lived after I've died from exhaustion. Receiving a posthumous award for winning the Nicholl, Chesterfield, and Sundance in the same year. Having my heirs blow the money in one day. This is great therapy, you know?

At least one sale under my belt, and another option or two. I just want to write all day and say goodby to the day job thing.

At the rate I'm going, I'll still be waiting to hear back from those Hollywood people who are reading my screenplay, and think it's really great.

You know that I NEVER get "bugged" over anything you guys say, and heaven forbid I be one of the "PC Nazis" but can you guys lay off that Jessica Alba crap? Its a bit over the top and offensive...

In 2 years, I hope to be a staff writer and s/board artist for The Animated Adventures of Marshall Toad (hopefully starring Sam Elliot as the voice of Toad).

... besides, Natalie Portman is hotter.

Non-pro? That's me. The other day at a wedding someone asked me what I did for a living. Normally I start with saying that I work freelance on film crews, then I mention that I work on film projects... for some reason, I decided to say I was a writer first, but when I said it, I laughed out loud and nearly spilled my cherry punch.

That's not to say I don't take it seriously, I just can't bring myself to say it until I make a sale or at least get a good sniff.... or quit working for a while and concentrate on the writing.... ramble on...

Hmmm, realistically where I see myself in two years: Hunched over in a dark alley in Los Angeles, clutching a bottle and muttering "Nicholl...semfiiinlist, Nicholl...semfiiiiinlist... heh heh, wooooo...", frightening innocent passerby by hurling brads at them and yelling "PRODUCE THIS!"

Travis, your punch anecdote almost made me spill my coffee. :lol I totally relate to what you're saying.

DoL - let them have miss Alba - won't matter one bit when we get to share Jude Law or (fill in the blank).

Hopefully... In two years I plan on seeing myself in the same place as I do now. In the mirror. As for my writing? Same place as now. The bottom of a bottle.

I'll probably still be doing the engineering thing, but by then I hope to have either one or two scripts optioned/bought so I can commute to californy to meet Kosk, Dol, Bill, Cornell ( okay so she'd have to fly out) and few others in person.

Daughter of Lir

charli,

we also want to see babes in bikinis play volleyball!

(does your video arcade have tekken tag?)

;)

p/s: how's the writing treating you?

StRogue
04-19-2001, 02:57 PM
I keep calling Kosk Kosh, sorry about that buddy (sigh).. Yes, I have ocean view rooms, directly over our surf shop, overlooking the main beach - so yes, bikini wear is in view from the balcony.

Name the date and I'll hook you up (gosh, I've always wanted to be someone's hook-up).

Oh, and the writing is coming along great. I'm really enjoying the process.. and yes, we have Tekken Tag, played it with my son, kinda cool game really.

Teaching social studies in middle school and still trying to get an agent to read my work.... However, I'll have the most extensive VHS collection of Coen Brothers, Francis Ford Coppola, Brian DePalma, Stanley Kubrick, Sergio Leone, Michael Mann, Barry Levinson, Kevin Smith, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Trantino, and Spaghetti Western flicks on this board....

And yes, I'm in the Smith-Tarantino school of video junkies who are trying their hand at screenwriting - to answer your question.....
